About Us

We are researchers at Michigan State University.

While we come from different fields (engineering, bioinformatics, physiology, pharmacology, immunology, vascular biology, model development, stem cell, etc), we have worked together over the past four years to develop an application of perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT) and NEW functions of this underappreciated tissue. We do novel cardiovascular science, made possible by the 'different brains' that come together through this Program Project Grant (PPG) mechanism.

Our mission

Our mission is to use the PPG mechanism and take a comprehensive, diverse approach to the questions at hand. We have four projects, supported by four cores.

Our cores & projects

Core A
guides and supervises the overall Program Project research effort.
Core B
the Animal Core serves as a central resource for all animals.
Core C
will support bioinformatic analysis, computational modeling, and training in computational modeling.
Core D
provides central facilities and technical assistance.
Project I
tissue that feeds information to the blood vessel through secretions and homing of immune cells.
Project II
hypertension is the leading contributor to global disease burden and the most common cause of preventable death.
Project III
is focused on the role of immune cells in PVAT.
Project IV
as hypertension develops, the forces exerted by blood pressure are applied to the vessels.

Novel tools for sharing

We share here developed tools and papers that are associated with data sets generated in bioinformatic experiments.
